MoneySavingRules.com ("we," "us") is a personal finance decision tool site. This page explains, in plain English, what information we collect and what we do with it.

What we collect

• Email address — when you choose to enter it to see your tool results or join our newsletter.
• Financial information you enter into our tools — such as income, expenses, savings, debt amounts, interest rates, goals, and purchase details. This is self-reported by you; we never connect to your bank accounts or verify it.
• Basic usage data — we may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand page visits and tool usage (e.g., which tools are used most). This may include general information like device type and approximate region.

What we use it for

• To generate your personalized results inside the tools.
• To send you the emails you signed up for — typically one useful money email per week. You can unsubscribe anytime via the link in any email.
• To understand what's useful and improve the tools (in aggregate).

What we don't do

• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not connect to your bank, credit card, or any financial account.
• We do not run third-party advertising trackers on this site.

How we make money

Some financial products we mention or link to may pay us a referral fee if you sign up ("affiliate links"). We label these as partner links wherever they appear. This never changes the recommendations our tools compute — your plan is generated from your numbers before any product is attached.

Who we share data with

We use trusted service providers to operate the site — currently form processing (Formspree) and website hosting (Vercel), and potentially an email newsletter provider. These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy and security terms. We share data with them only as needed to run the site, and with no one else except if required by law.

Data retention & your choices

• You can unsubscribe from emails at any time — every email includes an unsubscribe link.
• You can request deletion of your data by emailing hello@moneysavingrules.com from the address you used. We'll remove it from our systems within 30 days.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. Material changes will be noted on this page.
